Working for our client, Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association, we converted a large 11-bedroom HMO unit into 4 flats; as well as refurbishing 2 flats in the building and the building’s grounds.
The project meant providing a sustainable solution to a building which had been considered an eyesore by the locals. By reusing the existing building and making improvements to it, we were able to provide much needed affordable housing in the area.
The refurbishment/ conversion of the building improved its energy efficiency and all properties in the building have a better energy performance than required by EESH.
All converted flats are designed in accordance with HVN guidance to be accessible and one flat is designed as an HVN wheelchair accessible flat. The project was undertaken using a BIM Level 1 process.
