Energy Efficiency for Social Housing is a Scottish Government initiative to improve the energy efficiency of social housing in Scotland.
It aims to reduce energy consumption, fuel poverty and the emission of greenhouse gases, thereby contributing to the reduction in carbon emissions required by the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.
We assisted our client, Castle Rock Edinvar, by carrying out an assessment of their current housing stock to determine what works would be required to ensure they were in line with the legislation.
Following this we were able to go on to support them to carry out works required; for example we assisted them to obtain the consents needed to install external wall insulation in a number of properties across West Lothian, thereby improving the efficiency of the buildings.
We were delighted to be involved in this work, which fits with our environmental ethos of creating sustainable housing for all.
